'Jeccana's joy'

This stunning Moody 54 is (we believe) the largest yacht available for bareboat charter in Scotland.

Stepping aboard onto JJ’s Teak decks immediately gives one the feeling of her superior build quality: sound, solid and spacious on deck with an exceptionally well laid out centre cockpit. She is rigged as a cutter, for true blue water sailing enthusiasts; all sailing controls are easily accessed from within the cockpit: a single line, slab reefed, fully battened main (as opposed to customary in-mast furling main) offers a far more powerful and manageable sail plan, a self tacking staysail enhances performance and a roller furling140% Yankee provides the power up front. A cruising chute compliments the wardrobe for that little extra thrill!

Extremely solidly built, this boat is exceptionally sea-kindly, yet deceptively nimble and quick over long passages. She is a joy to sail, and does not overburden a short handed crew: electric winches and 15hp bow thruster further ease the handling and maneuverability. A 100hp Yanmar diesel powerhouse with a folding prop (and rope cutter) moves JJ along gracefully at 7-8 knots when motoring. At the Helm, the Raymarine repeater displays GPS Data, Chart Plotter, RADAR, and Fish-finder information. The Hydraulic Bathing platform is lowered from here (the surprisingly useful hot-and-cold outdoor shower at the bathing platform is revealed when in bathing mode!) and the primary electric windlass controls are located here also. (An extendable remote controller is also located at the anchor locker)

Suspended from Simson Davits at the rear of the boat is a 3.6m Lodestar RIB fitted with a 13.5HP Mercury Outboard, ideal for fun trips ashore.

When in port, the Cockpit doubles as an exceptional social area. Fully-fitted cushioned seats and backs give comfort, a Bimini top gives shade, and full Bimini sides convert the cockpit into a spacious indoor/outdoor space.

Below decks, the quality of the build becomes readily apparent; the raised saloon is extremely bright and spacious and is luxuriously appointed in lustrous lacquered wood and leather. The extendable dining table comfortably accommodates the full compliment of crew, with plenty of room for guests. The galley is exceptionally well set up with a deep freezer, huge fridge, gimbaled four burner hob with oven and grill and an extremely useful microwave oven and grill (Powered by the onboard Onan 11kW generator) The stowage around the galley area is exceptionally well thought out and presented and makes for easy meal preparation both at sea and in port.

The Navigation Station features all of the boat system controls expected of a boat this size: Raymarine Systems, GPS, Navtex, VHF Radios (fixed and portable), remote autopilot control, a large Chart Table with excellent chart stowage.  Also located here though is the dedicated boat Personal Computer, which acts as a backup GPS and chart plotter, an office-from-office, with WIFI Internet for Connection when in port, a multi-function printer/scanner/copier. The controls for the water-maker are located here, as is the Iridium Satellite Phone. The GPS EPIRB is closely located under the companionway steps. The Eberspacher Central Heating Controls and the saloon Air Conditioning Controls give a complete range of climate control options. (Controls for the staterooms are located in the staterooms) A 240volt, 500watt inverter socket is placed close at hand at the Navigation station should a little power be needed without needing the generator.

Walking into the aft stateroom is jaw-dropping experience. The designers have spared no expense with this room. A centered fore and aft king size bed is framed by leather sofas and an abundance of personal locker space. A grand mirror with dresser gives the room an even more spacious feel. The en-suite shower and heads is icing on the cake. (The shower is fantastic, the heads are vacuum flush into a holding tank – so not a problem here in port either – no need to dash off to find the shore facilities!)

The forward stateroom is comfort from top to bottom. The King size bed is fitted into the fore peak. Again, an abundance of stowage and locker space is provided. The forward shower and heads are en-suite, with a second (Jack-and-Jill) door leading into the forward companionway.

The luxuriously appointed twin Pullman cabin provides very comfortable long deep bunks for the perfect nights sleep.

The companionway leading aft from the Navigation station provides a host of service facilities: access to the engine room, the tool store and laundry! A washing machine/tumble dryer and ironing facilities  are located under the skippers/transit berth.

If you enjoy luxury yachting this is the boat for you!!!
