As Autumn approaches and the end of the season looms over the horizon there are still a few weeks available in September.
The days are a little shorter and usually it is a bit cooler – but today – 8th September – it’s 26º and a nice warm breeze!!!
If you would like to fit in a quick sail before the end of the season please call us on 01631 565630 or email charter@alba-sailing.co.uk
It looks like 2022 is going to be another year of the ‘staycation’ and our message is – if you are thinking about sailing on the West coast of Scotland next year then you really need to book now to avoid disappointment.
All 2022 charter bookings include a free outboard, the tablet with Navionics has proved a huge hit with our customers this year and every boat is now equipped with this facility as well as the virtual handovers on the same tablet which will all remain in place for 2022.
If you book in 2021 for 2022 you will only be charged the 2021 price!
We look forward to hearing from our customers old and new.
A couple who were out on our yacht True Blue last week sent us this great photo when they returned home. Was it a lucky right place – right time photo or incredible skill ??? 😉
You choose – either way its a lovely photo.
A group who recently chartered one of our yachts – ‘Goldrush of Clyde’ made this cracking video of their trip.
This is a lovely story from one of our clients who chartered our Westerly OceanRanger ‘Clear Blue’ from us in the Summer of 2018. Its a great adventure and the illustrations are superb. Click here to read about their adventures round the top of Scotland.
We completed one of our more unusual requests today! There is a prototype tidal power electricity generating platform being tested in the Falls of Lora and we were asked to make guard wires and safety lines for it to prevent visitors falling in the drink. The quote was submitted on Weds, order placed for all the swaged fittings on Thursday – parts arrived Friday (Big Thank You to the boys at Sta-Lok rigging!) – Tim and I made all the parts on Friday from our detailed measurements and on Saturday we fitted all the wires. We were VERY pleased that every wire was the right length – first time ! It looks great and we were very pleased to be able to help out the company behind the project – the whole setup will eventually be dismantled after testing and shipped out to South East Asia where it will be permanently installed. More information about this interesting project is here.
I have shared a video (that I really made for fun !) with a few friends, and they have all said I should show it to a wider audience! So here you are !
