Aurora IV
Aurora IV is a Moody 40 blue water cruising centre cockpit gem. She boasts a large forepeak and palatial aft master cabin both with ensuite heads and shower. Designed by the famous Bill Dixon and solidly built in Plymouth she is fast and tough but easy to handle. She really stands out in the marina with her distinctive blue hull and classic teak decks.
Aurora has a powerful 140% genoa and the top-of-the-range Selden in-mast furling mainsail and so can be operated from the cockpit – no need to go up to the mast when underway. The Axiom plotter is at the helm and the versatile sailing instruments above the hatch so when underway you don’t need to keep going below. Anchoring is made easy with a wonderful self-launching next gen Spade anchor and she has a large Featherstream self-feathering propeller that gives her up to an extra 1kt under sail.
Below decks her interior is all made from beautiful cherry and birch wood with classic teak & holly soles. She has an efficient diesel powered internal forced air heater for those cold evenings and can sleep up to seven in three cabins and the saloon. She has a very comfortable saloon with a large table and a galley that is great to cook in with its gas cooker, two fridges and a double sink.
This is a boat you can live in for days and weeks without that usual growing feeling that you just want to get back to your own bed.
